SEO and GEO
Two search experiences. One website.
Being found in search, mentioned in an AI answer and receiving a visit are different outcomes. Marvedo brings technical and content work together while measuring those outcomes separately.
Search topic: project management tool for teams
- Search result
- How often was the page shown, and how many clicks did it receive?
- AI answer
- Was the brand mentioned, and was this page linked as a source?
What do SEO and GEO cover?
SEO helps search engines find and understand your website. GEO examines how your brand and content appear in generative AI answers.
| Topic | SEO | GEO |
|---|---|---|
| Where we look | Your pages in search results. | AI answers to selected questions. |
| Outcome tracked | Page impressions and clicks. | Brand mentions and source links to your page. |
| Data reviewed | Search Console reports you choose to share and a page review. | Question, platform, check date, answer and any cited URL. |
| Interpretation limits | An impression is not a click or a sale. | A mention or citation is not a website visit. |
An AI answer can mention your brand without linking to your site. That is why we do not combine mentions, citations and clicks into a single success metric.
Start with a specific gap on your page.
What the visitor finds matters as much as the channel we track. First we select the page and the question it should answer.
Review the page and its current state.
We consider title, access and link issues alongside unanswered content questions. Existing reports can add context if you choose to share them.
Fill the information gap.
If a comparison page does not explain who the product suits, we focus on that question. You review the proposed text and sources before publication.
Track changes in the same context.
We record the update date, compare Google data across comparable periods, and evaluate AI answers by question, platform and date.
Your update may not be the only reason for an increase. We do not guarantee rankings, traffic growth or inclusion in AI answers.
Choose the work you need.
Technical issues and content gaps
If you are unsure which page needs improvement or why, start with technical issues and differences from competing content.
